We practice a traditional and non-competitive form of karate in Edinburgh. As part of the Japan Karate Association, we practice a refined form of Shotokan karate, emphasising character development, respect, and self-control over competition. Our training focuses on kihon (basic techniques), kumite (fighting skills), and kata (pre-set sequences). This holistic approach not only hones your physical abilities but also cultivates mental strength and focus, preparing you for any challenges that may arise in life.
Under the guidance of Sensei Bert Stewart, a 5th Dan Black Belt with over 40 years of teaching experience, we offer a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. Our dojo is fully qualified and registered with the Scottish Karate Governing Body, sanctioned by Sports Scotland, ensuring a safe and instructive environment for your karate journey.
